Spring
Spring is a less busy time at DCL, perfect for a quieter visit and cheaper prices. There are many fishing spots around the area which are stocked with fish this month. Chalet Alpenglow comes with a membership to the CARC where you can enjoy an indoor pool & gym, just 1 mile from the house. Choose an event you like and book your stay with us early.

Summer
Memorial weekend is the start of our summer season which brings visitors and many events & festivals to DCL. The water temperature is warming up, the days are bright, sunny, and warm, perfect for outdoor activities and the best part, the mountain climate keeps the humidity away. Book early, Chalet Alpenglow fills up quickly.

AUGUST
Garrett County Agricultural Fair - exhibition for the local agriculture community, carnival and entertainment
Fall
Labor Day marks the end of summer but definitely not the end of DCL fun and beauty. Temperatures cool and the mountains shimmer in beautiful yellow, orange, and red. Deep Creek Lake has been named one of the best places from coast to coast to view colorful fall foliage. Enjoy the crisp mountain air and all the outdoor activities. Boat rentals are available until early October. Chalet Alpenglow is equipped with everything you need for a happy Thanksgiving meal.
SEPTEMBER
Alpaca Acres Fall Festival - storybook trail, mountain slide, hay pyramid, jump pad, barrel train ride, pumpkin patch
Deep Creek Art, Beer & Wine Festival - hand crafted works of local artists & over 200 wines are featured from Maryland and national wineries, live music, children's activities & live entertainment
Opening of Cove Run Corn Maze - 10 acres of fun, petting zoo, duck racing, pedal tractors and trikes, hay rides
Fall fest at Sang Run State Park - hayrides around the farm, scarecrow making, pick pumpkins directly from the patch.

NOVEMBER
Festival of Trees - holiday festival with Frosty Fun Land, Winter Wonderland, and Breakfast with Santa, designer decorated trees, wreaths, centerpieces, and gingerbread houses are on exhibit, and will be auctioned off
Winter
The colder temperatures bring snow, cozy evenings in front of the fire place, and the opening of Wisp Resort with 34 slopes and 12 chair and surface lifts and 10 operating lanes for snowtubing. The slopes usually open in December, weather depending. Wisp has powerful equipment to make a lot of its own snow when Mother Nature is taking a break. Chalet Alpenglow provides a cozy place for family and friends to enjoy some relaxing days to enjoy holiday fun and winter wonderland. By January, the lake is usually frozen solid and a great place to go ice-fishing and snowmobiling. The waterfalls at Swallow Falls State Park are also usually frozen over by this point, making beautiful ice formations.
DECEMBER
