Common fish species in Deep Creek Lake include trout, bass, walleye, yellow perch, and Northern pike. Good places to fish: Fishing pier at Deep Creek State Park, near boat ramps; Herrington Manor State Park; Savage River for trout fishing; Smallmouth and trout on the Kendal trail along the Youghiogheny river in Friendsville;
